As of today, we will be accepting submissions for two of our poetry book anthologies, in which all poets have an opportunity to take part in. Poets will have the chance to express how much poetry matters in their life in the, “Why Poetry Matters” poetry anthology, a poetry book that will illuminate individual reasons as to why poetry is of importance and why it is relevant in your life.
In addition to this, poets will have the opportunity to share their own personal poetic testimony in the, “Poetry Saved Me” anthology; a project to allow poets to share with the world, how poetry saved them and made a difference in their life.

'Why Poetry Matters', 2016 book anthology!

Realistic Poetry International is pleased to present the,

'Why Poetry Matters', 2016 book anthology!

Poetry, like many other renown forms of literature has proven to be a timeless art of expression, effectively impacting those who write it, and even influencing those who read it.
There are countless reasons as to why poetry matters; whether it's the phenomenal ability to be able to make a difference, or the fact that poetry creatively conveys our perspectives and emotions, it has been established worldwide that poetry matters.
In our sincerest efforts to magnify these reasons, in this Realistic Poetry International anthology, we are inviting poets to share their own reasons as to why poetry matters to them in poetry format. This is a great opportunity for all poets to unite and celebrate the importance, wonders, and power of poetry.
If you are interested and would like to contribute to this collaboration, please read the details and guidelines related to the, 'Why Poetry Matters' book anthology. If you have any questions, please send an email to realisticpoetry@yahoo.com, we are more than happy to assist you!

Poetry Saved Me' book anthology!

'Realistic Poetry International is proud to present the 2016

Poetry Saved Me' book anthology!

This inspiring poetry project allows poets the opportunity to share their own personal testimony of how poetry has positively impacted their life or the life of someone else.
For centuries, poetry's relevance has soared far beyond entertainment purposes, often helping us get through some of the most difficult times of our lives.
In a world where comfort and understanding can sometimes be scarce, poetry has been known to provide many of us with a productive outlet that helps us
grow in our journeys as we reflect back on some of our darkest days.
Progressively moving forward, we are then able to truly celebrate just how far we have come today as survivors of our circumstances.
So, join us this year in this Realistic Poetry collaboration for poets and proudly tell the world, how poetry saved you!
If you are interested in becoming a feature in this book, please be sure to read all guidelines and details associated with this project first. If you have any additional questions, please send an email to realisticpoetry@yahoo.com

Forgive me. I have lied and cheated.

I Lied to you
http://www.realisticpoetry.com/quotes-new-oldI made you a promise and I did not keep it, and for that, I am sorry. Years ago, when we first met, I exposed all of my deepest feelings for you, and for so long, it was only you and I. We were like best friends and nothing in the world could ever separate us. I remember staying up through the long night in silence; you never complained, even when I wet you with my salty tears. It was on one of those lonesome nights that I made a solemn promise to you. I vowed that I would forever keep you by my side. Strangers could only see you as an old notebook with easily torn pages; some full, some empty, but it didn’t matter. In my world, you became so much more. It was as if you and I had bonded into one, never to be a part.
I thought we would be together forever…until I met this new shiny laptop. It saddens me to say that ever since, you and I have only grown further and further apart. I have severely neglected you. I can clearly remember our last day together, you gave me a paper cut right before I threw you in a dark, cold, crowded closet. The cut annoyed me, but I now know that you were only desperately trying to get my attention. I’m sorry I did not listen, and I’m even more sorry that I lied to you. I am stuck with no electricity now and I really need someone to talk to! After the lights went out, the laptop refused to stick around for longer than an hour. I need you now, Notebook! Please, come out of the closet and give me one last chance to love you, yet again. Please, tell me we are still friends.

A woman deserves so much more love, recognition, and respect for all that she is and all that she does.

A woman deserves so much more love, recognition, and respect for all that she is and all that she does.

A woman deserves so much more love, recognition, and respect for all that she is and all that she does. She is strong like a fortress, yet gentle, caring, and understanding. She often carries so much of the worlds heavy burdens with little complaint and still wears one of the most priceless smiles. She has been put down, beat up, lied to, and discouraged, but somehow, brilliantly manages to find her way back to the surface. Her body acts as the first sacred home to our offspring, providing nourishment and shelter for our developing babies that will one day become the future. Each and every one of us have had to pass through the protection of a woman’s womb, which in itself is simply amazing! A woman’s love is worth more than all the material things that a man can ever give or obtain. She is resilient and motivated despite what she has been through and is unafraid of her tears. She is beautiful inside and out and virtuosity is like her crown. Our world would be incomplete without the presence of a strong, loving, compassionate, beautiful woman.
